The steering wheel spiral cable clock spring maintains continuous electrical connections between the moving steering wheel controls and the static electrical loom of the vehicle chassis. Technical and Installation Guidance

• Steering Angle Sensor Warning: This replacement kit consists of the active clock spring coil and housing enclosure. It does not replace the integrated electronic steering angle sensor module (often stamped 89245-0K010). The original angle sensor must be carefully unclipped from the rear of the old clock spring and transferred to this new unit during replacement.
• Safety Precautions: Because this install requires extracting the driver side steering wheel airbag explosive inflator, the vehicle battery must be completely disconnected for a minimum of 15 minutes before assembly begins to exhaust residual electrical capacitor energy.
• Centering Instruction: Ensure the wheels are tracking completely straight and the new clock spring unit remains locked in its centered index position until fully installed on the steering column splines to avoid tearing the inner ribbon wire upon initial turning.
